The Christmas Juke Box is rockin' at Atom Retro! We love all the ol' faves, of course; Slade, Wizzard, Wham and Mud, right through to Brenda Lee's Rockin' Christmas Tree and Bing's White Christmas... but we also love to discover a rare festive hit, a Christmas Song that you won't hear blaring inside every shop or supermarket this Christmas season - so here's our 2013 top ten less heard Christmas Songs!
1. Father Christmas - The Kinks
Released: 1977
An anti-commercial Christmas hit which tells the story of a Father Christmas mugged by kids who'd rather have the money than the toys.
Sing-a-long bit: "Father christmas, give us some money! Don't mess around with those silly toys! We'll beat you up if you don't hand it over, We want your bread so don't make us annoyed!"
2. Back Door Santa - Clarence Carter
Released: 1968
A bluesy rock 'n' roll Christmas song, full of festive double entendre!
Sing-a-long bit: "They call me Back Door Santa, I make my runs about the break of day, I make all the little girls happy, While the boys are out to play."
3. Don't Shoot Me Santa - The Killers
Released: 2007
Santa takes extreme measures against those on the naughty list this year in this great Killers Christmas tune!
Sing-a-long bit: (in plaintive Brandon Flowers style tones) "Don't shoot me, Santa Claus, No one else around believes me, But the children on the block they tease me, I couldn't let them off that easy."
4. Alien For Christmas - Fountains of Wayne
Released: 2004
Fab Christmas pop song requesting an Alien for Christmas. Remember, an Alien is for life, not just for Christmas!
Sing-a-long bit: "I want an alien for Christmas, Bring me an alien this year. I want a little green guy, About three feet high, With seventeen eyes, Who knows how to fly..."
5. Run Rudolph Run - Chuck Berry
Released: 1958
Classic rock 'n' roll in the same vein as Johnny B Goode. A Christmas movie soundtrack fave too.

6. Everything's gonna be Cool This Christmas - Eels
Released: 1998
This rockin' Eels Christmas tune was a B-Side originally. Have a cool one.

7. Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight) - The Ramones
Released: 1989
The Ramones celebrate that other Christmas tradition - a big argument!

8. Frosty The Snowman - The Ronettes
Released: 1963
Christmas carols and traditional songs get the Wall of Sound treatment in this fabulous Christmas album. Okay, so perhaps not quite a less heard - but couldn't resist including it! The Ronette's Frosty The Snowman being a particular highlight.
Sing-a-long bit: "Frosty the snowman, Was a happy, jolly soul. With a corncob pipe and a button nose, And two eyes made out of coal."
9. I Wanna Be Santa Claus - Ringo Starr
Released: 1999
Not only a Christmas song, but a whole Christmas album from Ringo too! (Album features Ringo's covers of Beatle fan club Christmas tunes too - look it up!)

10. Let It Snow - Dean Martin
Released: 1959
Nearly went with the Captain Picard version of this Christmas classic, but Dino was just the perfect thing to round off our Christmas song juke box! Nothing like this tune to get you into a Christmassy mood!
